[Wuxi, 2025/3/11] – Spanish engineering firm SALVIS Street Lighting Engineering Company recently visited Zoeast PV Co., Ltd. a leading Chinese manufacturer specializing in solar energy solutions, to discuss collaboration on establishing a 30MW streetlight component production line in Mali, Africa. The visit focused on aligning technical specifications, material supply chains, and project timelines for the initiative aimed at bolstering Mali's renewable energy infrastructure.
Key Discussions and Objectives
During the meeting, representatives from SALVIS and Zoeast PV explored the feasibility of setting up a localized production facility in Mali to manufacture solar streetlight components, including photovoltaic panels, energy storage systems, and smart lighting controls. The project aims to address Mali's growing demand for sustainable off-grid lighting solutions while creating local employment opportunities.
Zoeast PV showcased its advanced manufacturing processes, quality control systems, and R&D capabilities during a factory tour. SALVIS engineers expressed particular interest in the company’s integrated solar streetlight systems, which combine high-efficiency monocrystalline panels with lithium-ion battery storage and IoT-enabled management features.
A core agenda item was securing a stable supply of raw materials, such as tempered glass, aluminum frames, and photovoltaic cells. Zoeast PV emphasized its vertically integrated supply chain, which ensures cost efficiency and scalability—a critical factor for the Mali project’s success. Both parties agreed to draft a phased procurement plan to mitigate logistical challenges in West Africa.
Statements from Leadership
Mr. Carlos Mendez, SALVIS Project Director, remarked, "Zoeast PV’s expertise in off-grid solar systems aligns perfectly with our vision for Mali. Their ability to customize components for harsh climates will be invaluable in ensuring long-term durability."
Mr. Javier Elizalde, CEO of Zoeast PV, added, "This partnership underscores our commitment to expanding renewable energy access in underserved regions. By localizing production, we reduce costs and environmental impact while empowering communities."
Next Steps
Technical teams from both companies will conduct a joint site assessment in Mali next month to finalize facility specifications. Meanwhile, Zoeast PV will prepare prototype components tailored to Mali’s extreme temperatures and dust conditions for field testing.
